THE DAY MUSIC CHANGED THE WORLD

A Different Booklist Cultural Centre (ADBCC) invites you to an ADBCC special event , celebrating the life & legacy of bob Marley and the Honorable Marcus Garvey

“Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds.”

Did you know that these famous words were first said by Marcus Garvey in his U.N.I.A. address In Sydney, Nova Scotia in 1937?

Bob Marley then immortalized these words in his hit song, “Redemption Song” released in 1980.

Do these words still apply to us today?  What does it mean to ’emancipate yourself from mental slavery and free your mind’?  How can you make a difference for yourself and your community?

Join youth in our zoom presentation where you will be able to speak with our special guest

Dr. Julius Garvey, the son of Marcus Garvey

To join us by zoom, please email the program coordinator, Giselle Wilson, Giselle.Adbcc@gmail.com
